Oh my goodness, I love this couple! Randy and Samantha were so fun to photograph. I'm having the hardest time making my final selections....too many pretty things to look at and people having fun. It was a great day. Here are a few of my favorites so far....more on the way!

Tom and Nina - A Highlands Wedding Southern Style

This couple has been great to get to know. I love connecting with my clients and Tom and Nina’s wedding was not only gorgeous, but full of very interesting details. From the story of how they came to choose the location of their wedding (Tom’s family’s estate, complete with a historical home built over 130 years ago by Highlands’ only dentist), the story of how they met (she called the wrong brokerage office for some advice on moving her IRA…Tom was ‘Broker of the Day’), his groom’s gifts (clocks made out of the pistons from the Jaguar v12 engine that is the coffee-table on BBC’s Top Gear - Tom is a huge car buff), to Tom’s cufflinks (his great-grandfather’s - the highly decorated General George H. Olmsted )….there is just so much to this couple and I enjoyed hearing all the stories.

The flowers were done by the incomparable Dutchman’s.

This shot under the weeping willow is one of my favorite…

I teared up when I took this one, Tom seriously is smitten with Nina and it shows!

The donkeys were so sweet.

The main house is rumored to be the oldest in the county….

Pralines were made on the premises - a must have for a truly Southern wedding…

These tents were huge! Mountain Party Tents made it all look so easy.

There were five smaller tents set apart from the main party tent to let guests get away from the noise for a little relaxation and conversation.

There were eleven foot tall iron trees drenched in flowers and candlelight….

Ahhh, if only I had a wedding picture like this of my husband and I….

Hassel did a great job of catching these moments.

Epting catering was phenomenal at making everyone happy they had attended!

Nina just glowed (here she is at the Old Edwards Inn) …..

Now, this is one wedding where I could not do it all myself. I can not thank my second shooters enough - yep there was more than one. It was a team effort on this, Hassel Weems shadowed the groom while I was at a different venue with the bride. Jeannie Edwards was put in charge of getting some great detail shots. And my college-going assistant, Krystal, stepped in to get some valuable experience shooting weddings. Add on my husband, Tim, serving as ‘pack-mule’, and we were a force. As we were leaving the wedding that night we lamented the fact that we didn’t have someone to take an image of all of us together - you know, Reservoir Dogs style! :) I could not have gotten it all without you guys. Thank you!!

I am slowly but surely putting the finishing touches on my most recent weddings. It’s been crazy (and I will be posting images and webshow links soon), but I wanted to stop a minute and make the announcement. *drum roll please*

I’m pleased to announce that we were able to reduce the price of our smaller gift sizes today. So stock up on 5×7s and smaller for your friends….and feel good about it. You are saving $$.

A Short Film You Must See....

After a few rough days of computer problems causing slowdowns I just DON'T have time for...I was feeling pretty drained. I saw this short movie by Alonso Alvarez Barreda that was chosen the winner of the NFB Online Competition Cannes 2008 this morning. It reminded me that life often hinges on our outlook....take a peek and see for yourself. Hope it brightens your day as well.

Seems there may be connection issues, but the WebShows themselves were not completely loading…even though they said the upload was complete. I just tried the Ray Family’s Show….since it was small compared to the weddings I’m trying to upload. And after I manually finished the upload…IT WORKS!!

So, I know what to do on my return. Until then, I hope you enjoy the Ray Family’s WebShow.

What's Going ON??

If you are waiting on me to see your images, I must apologize. I am currently having some connection/server issues that are preventing me from posting shows and images as fast as I would like. I must leave now as we are headed out of town again in a few short hours. I’ve been here since 9:00 yesterday morning and haven’t had much luck Everything seems to be going swimmingly, then the server will be reset. Please bear with me. I know there is never a good time for this kind of thing to happen….and, most likely, I’m more frustrated than you. (I’ve got ALL these great images and can’t show them!!!) :O I will be returning Monday. Hopefully all will be back to normal. I thank you all for your patience as I get this worked out.

Ta Da! Our new Logo!

Hi all,

I'm excited to unveil our new logo. We love the kids that have graced our company for over ten years now, but they are a bit too old-fashioned and juvenile for our newer style of shooting. They were just the thing when I shot mostly babies and children (wow, that's sounds really bad if taken out of context! lol), but now that we are no longer shooting in the studio and focusing more on weddings and families lifestyle sessions....well they have become passe. *sigh* So while I will miss them a bit, I am happy to find a new logo that will hopefully help me usher in a new phase of our business' brand. Please feel free to let me know what you think. :o)

You'll start seeing the new logo soon....our custom website and blog is being created as we speak by Ross and Victor at www.Flosites.com. Awesome stuff, can't wait to see it when it is done!

We Interrupt Our Regularly Scheduled Programming....

You could call me a wedding-processing machine right now. I have several that I am working on at the moment. But I just had to stop and show you these images from the other day.

I was thrilled when Justin’s aunt called me and inquired if I would come out and take pictures of Justin proposing to Christie?

“WOULD I!?!”, I think I practically came out of my seat. lol

I have long tried to get guys who are thinking of proposing to give me a call first. I have done one or two over the years, but they were spur of the moment shots….not planned ahead. So this time, Justin and I were able to make some plans that allowed me to know where they would be sitting and where exactly I could shoot ‘ninja-style’. I am so tickled with the images- how they tell the story of what happened. And I’m so proud of Justin for thinking this through….how much more romantic can you get?? I know Christie is thrilled.

Oh, my, I'm surrounded....

by beautiful people! See?? These past couple of weeks have been super busy, and there’s no way to get a chance to blog these sessions/events like I’d like. (I’m heading out to Knoxville shortly to capture the wedding of Betzy & Brock this weekend!) So I wanted to hop on here and post up a couple of images of each until I get back Monday and can truly spend some time posting….

Tom and Nina were married last weekend on the Burt Farms estate. I can’t wait to show you more of the pictures from this fantastic day! They had such gorgeous day and so many uniques touches and their love for one another was an awesome thing to behold. I’ve got more images coming soon!

Bettye and Jack truly hosted THE most laid-back wedding I’ve ever photographed. Surrounded by family and friends, they kept things super-simple and oh-so-fun! I love watching Jack laugh and Bettye was stunning….I’m anxious to show you Jack’s laugh and all the other details that made this a wonderful day.

Josh and Holley are going to have a beautiful wedding in Gainesville in October. I can’t wait to see it all unfold. Holley’s expressions are so fun to watch and capture. And it doesn’t hurt that their reception is planned in an art gallery. THAT should make for some great pictures. Until then, here’s a couple of their engagement pics.

The Devos family was a delight to photograph. They love being together and it showed. They stayed at the Old Edwards Inn, so we were able to use the charming garden areas around the hotel for a few pictures before heading down into Horse Cove for a more natural setting. They even had my wedding clients David and Barbara (hi guys!!) bring up their pooch so that the whole family could be there!

Haha, there is so much going on that I’ve fallen behind on posting to my blog….it’s the first thing to fall aside when things start humming. But I want to get the word out about several things, so I’m putting them all in this post–so hang on for the ride. :o)

The Bryans are just awesome. When I was down in McDonough, they brought their daughter, Miss EG, to me for her one year picture. Well, when they had Little B they brought him in for a matching portrait. When I got a call from Amie that they have a new addition to the family, Baby T, and wanted to come up to NC to see me– I was thrilled. I got to see my kids (I get a little attached to all the kids I photograph, they are such dolls! ;o) and meet Baby T. The session went wonderfully and I received the sweetest email from Amy yesterday…..

“Hi Ginger -

Here are my pictures, framed and on the wall. We LOVE LOVE LOVE them! Thank you.

and she even sent pictures!!! I LOVE seeing images I’ve created on the wall!

The Charleston Trip Pictures are UP!!!

My daughter’s class went on a wonderful, whirlwind trip to Charleston. Mrs. Hedden plans a trip each year for the 5th grade kids that are leaving elementary school for middle school next year. This year the kids were treated to visits to Boone Hall Plantation, the Charleston Museum, a ghost tour, the South Carolina Aquarium, an ecological tour with Barrier Island Eco Tours, a historic carriage ride with the Palmetto Carriage Company and, finally, a trip out to Fort Sumter on the ‘Spirit of Charleston’. Boy were we a tired bunch after the trip, but it was wonderful to see the kids excited about history and natural science…they were engaged–learning while having fun. What more could you wish for?? Kudos to Mrs. Hedden for planning such a wonderful trip. The memories will last a lifetime. (I will work to get the galleries up so that if anyone wishes to order prints, they will be available soon. Until then, there are links below for two versions of the slideshow. The long one will take a while, so it most likely will appeal mostly to parents and grandparents of the kids on the trip. The short one is only a few minutes long, so it’s fun to watch for almost anyone. )
